Last Tuesday, the Sparks visited the Public Library. Our good friend the librarian read some very funny books to us, and one had a little chicken who kept interrupting the story! Then the librarian took us on a tour and showed us the kids section, and how to find our favourite books, as well as where the librarian sits in case we need some help. She also showed us a really cool computer that would read our favourite stories to us.
The librarian had to go bakc to work then to help some other kids find books, so we went back to the meeting room and I (Sparkles) read them a book called Pink It Up! about a girl who dressed her daddy all in pink.
Finally we practiced closing and went home with lots of cookies to sell! The Sparks had a super fun time, and can't wait to come back to the library to borrow some books!
See you next Tuesday for more fun!
Sparkles.

Our First Sparks Meeting!
The other night was our very first Spark Meeting. Everyone was very excited to make some new friends. Sparkles played Duck Duck Goose and What Time is it Mr. Wolf? with the Sparks as they came in. Then we sang some songs and learned the one called Sparks Jump Up! that we sing at the beginning of our meeting.
Then Daisy and Pixie came over and we coloured some name tags to help us learn everyone's names. Then Pixie led us in a game of catch. After that we learned some Spark Rules. The most important one of all is "To Promise to Share and Be a Friend!" and of course to HAVE FUN!
Then we played some more catch and it was time to go home. Sparkles thinks that all the Sparks had a lot of fun, and can't wait to see them next Tuesday!

Welcome to the Woodstock Sparks Blog!
Hello! And welcome to the blog of the Woodstock Sparks unit!
I am your webmaster, Sparkles, and I am the Junior Leader in the Spark Unit. I, and the Sparks Leaders, Daisy and Pixie, welcome you to our online home. We look forward to planning all sorts of wonderful adventures for the Sparks this year.
On this site, you can find all sorts of information and other fun things. As the year progresses, you'll find in this blog section the adventures of the Spark unit and some reminders of things for the coming weeks. Navigation bar above this are links to the home page, a page on weekly records of any handouts sent home, and many other pages of things to explore.
On the tab on the right there are a bunch of awesome Guiding links to check out! Some are full of information and others are just for fun! (Do check out Teddy and Flat Brownie's Adventures to see what some Brownies in England are up to!)
We hope you find these online resources useful! Any questions, suggestions, or concerns can be added by clinking the comment(s) link below this post, and we shall try to reply to them as quick as we can!
